New to FIRST LEGO League? Start with the checklist. Returning coaches can jump directly to official season materials or the coach portal.
First-season checklist
- Register or renew your team with FIRST and obtain its official FIRST team number.
- Create one PAFLL coach account and add every team you manage.
- Choose OPEN Division or SCHOLASTIC Division separately for each team.
- Obtain a $325 Western PA FLL Season Pass for each team. School payment delays do not block event registration.
- Beginning September 1, select Educational Scrimmages, Competitive Scrimmages, and the appropriate Division Championship.
- Keep coach names, email addresses, and phone numbers current so urgent event notices reach you.
Official season materials
Game documents, videos, season updates, and Founders Edition resources from FIRST.
Official BIOGLOW brand files
Logos, style guidance, wallpapers, posters, and social-media resources.
Choosing events
Educational Scrimmages are lower-pressure learning and practice events. Competitive Scrimmages provide tournament-style rounds and judging practice. Neither determines championship advancement.
Teams may attend as many or as few available scrimmages as they choose. The Coach Dashboard shows live session capacity and registrations.
What to expect on event day
- Arrive after doors open and before the published program start.
- Bring the team’s robot, attachments, charged devices, chargers, and any materials identified in the event email.
- Check in under the team’s FIRST number and current team name.
- Watch for the final agenda, venue entry instructions, and forms by email.
Event-specific details are emailed to registered coaches when finalized.
Coach portal
Maintain teams and contacts, view Season Pass status, register for events, respond to waitlist offers, and review archived announcements.
